Goole in 200 Objects and the Bicentenary Timeline Exhibition

DATES

23 May - 4 Jul 2026 (Goole Museum); from 13 Jul 2026 (Junction Goole)

LOCATION

Goole Museum, Carlisle Street and Junction Goole, Paradise Place

Goole 200: A History of Goole in 200 Objects, at Goole Museum on Carlisle Street from 23 May to 4 July 2026, tells two centuries of the town’s story through 200 weird and wonderful artefacts from the museum’s collections — nearly all of them donated by local people. Themes include Local Heroes, War and Peace, Made in Goole, Work Hard/Play Hard, On the Move, and Spaces and Places, spanning the port’s origins and growth alongside industries such as shipbuilding, alum working and clothes manufacturing, plus everyday objects that open a window onto childhood, home life, healthcare and recreation in the town.

Running alongside it is the Goole Bicentenary Timeline Exhibition, exploring 200 years of the town’s history: pop-up displays appeared at venues around town from 23 May to 5 June, and the full exhibition returns for a second showing at Junction Goole, Paradise Place, from 13 July 2026. Entry to both exhibitions is free.
