Goole’s Wetherspoon occupies the town’s former HSBC bank on Market Square, and takes its name from the York City and County Bank, which first opened on Aire Street in 1832. Alongside the famously keen-priced food and drink menu, the handpumps carry changing Yorkshire cask ales from the likes of Great Newsome and Wold Top. Open from 8am daily, it does everything from full breakfasts through to late-evening pints beneath the old banking-hall ceilings.
